WHY CRESCENT MOON YOGA?

Imagine Yoga before it was transformed by the West. Yoga was passed down from teacher to student in a personalized breath-centered way. Crescent Moon Yoga offers smaller class sizes and individual attention that takes into consideration age, physical, emotional health and safety. We offer gentle classes that consist of yoga therapies that help reduce back, joint and stress related issues. Our teachers will help you delve into deeper levels of being where health challenges can originate. We view physical, psychological and spiritual wellness as inseparable. Dianne Murphy

Dianne has been teaching yoga since the early 80’s. She has owned and directed Crescent Moon Yoga for over 20 years taking great care in helping people achieve ultimate health and vitality through the amazing practice of yoga. Being Advanced Certified in Kripalu yoga was just the beginning of her journey of study. She is affiliated with Ananda, Iyengar, Anusara, and Ashtanga and over the years studied with many international and inspiring teachers. Teaching privately as well lead her to become a Holistic Counselor and Massage Therapist including Cranial Sacral work. From her education and experience she has been successful in treating her client’s for stressful and physical unrest. She has practiced massage and energy work for 18 years.

Veronica Cote

Veronica has been a yoga educator for over 22 years. She was the former owner of Yoga Connection; a Scottsdale based Yoga Studio, and is current director of Energy Matters Yoga offering personal yoga therapy. In addition to teaching yoga classes, Veronica is also a certified yoga therapist utilizing Ayurvedic principles and modalities. Veronica has 3 grown children and 1 grandchild. She has been married for 30 yrs. to Scottsdale based Architect and Developer Jim Elson. She has enjoyed living in Arizona since 1960. “My teaching priority is to always create a safe and nurturing atmosphere which allows students to safely explore and increase their own unique mind~body~spirit connection.”

Karen has been practicing yoga for 17 years, and decided to explore her practice more deeply by completing yoga teacher training with Dianne Murphy. Karen believes the practice of yoga is a journey, not a destination. She enjoys guiding students to explore being present on their mats to fully receive the physical, mental, and healing benefits yoga offers for all ages and abilities. As a Finance Director with a large corporation, Karen understands first-hand the positive effects of a yoga practice for a busy lifestyle. Her focus is to elevate the level of physical and mental fitness by using techniques to enhance strength, improve focus, increase balance and flexibility, and develop tools for relaxation. In addition to yoga, Karen also enjoys running, hiking, making jewelry, and spending time with her husband and son.

Veda Spidle

Veda Spidle was born in Lithuania and at a young age immigrated to the United States with her family. Since childhood, she has been surrounded by art, yoga, meditation, and spirituality. These influences led her to pursue a B.A. in Interior Design and later, to live abroad to teach English in South Korea, where she met her husband. Her experience there gave her a foundation for connecting to students, making learning fun, and expanding her perspective of life. Upon leaving South Korea, she and her husband moved to Arizona where the opportunity to blend her love of yoga with her passion for teaching presented itself. With the support of her family, friends, mentors, and students, Veda completed Yoga Teacher Training and is now an E-RYT at the 200-hour level and an RYT at the 500-hour level with a focus on Anusara® yoga. She continues to expand her knowledge of yoga by constantly attending additional training and workshop classes, most recently she is pursuing another 200-hour training certification in Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan®. Veda enjoys teaching people of all ages and levels of ability. She aspires to continue sharing her love of yoga, meditation, health, and life with others, and most importantly, hopes to teach people to have self-compassion through yoga. Learn more about her at www.TheKarunaTree.com.

Marnee Weber

Marnee has been practicing mindfulness, meditation, yoga and Buddhism since 1988; in her formative years, she studied the Bible. Her life’s mission has been to deepen her spirituality, heal her inner wounds, live in harmony, and help others. Since 2004, she’s been a Professional Coach helping clients manage stress and channel strengths so they can fulfill their goals. As a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator she teaches shame resilience skills and daily practices for courageous and wholehearted living. She is a Teacher-in-Training of the Mindful Self-Compassion Course that combines mindfulness and self-compassion skills to enhance emotional wellbeing.

Nicole has been practicing yoga for just over five years and found her way to Crescent Moon to deepen her practice and attend teacher training. She is now a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance. Nicole has a passion for all things health and fitness and is also a certified personal trainer and health coach. She takes a holistic approach to health and wellness and believes a healthy mind and a healthy body are the key to a long and happy life. Nicole is a long time Arizona resident, a dog lover, and enjoys traveling whenever she can.
